DEXTER - The Dexter Regional Development
Corporation and the Christian Community Church sponsored their Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Hat
Parade for children under the age of 12 on Saturday, April 7th.
The Event was held at the VFW Hall, on Cedar Street in Dexter this year. The Christian Community Church served FREE Breakfast snacks for the 60 plus children that came. Heaping tables of undecorated hats, silk flowers, tulle, paper streamers, pipe cleaners, glue, staplers and such greeted the youngsters and with the help of 14 Dexter Regional High School Key Club members and 2 Dexter Middle School Builders Club members they created colorful Easter Hats. After snacks and decorating, Pastor Lois Field held her Annual Easter Egg Hunt which children get little candies in each egg; they receive a quarter for every egg found (in the 2 age groups). For the first year, the youngsters hunted for their colorful eggs in the snow, but they were undaunted by the white stuff; 98 eggs out of 100 eggs were found. The children and the Key Club donned their Easter Hats and 'paraded' around the VFW Hall yard to be judged. The winners were judged in the same age groups 0 to 7 and 8 to 12. The Easter Hat winners received: ( in the 2 age Groups)
