Customer service workshop helps businesses increase profits

PENQUIS - The University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Penquis Community Action Program will present "Customer Service Makes Good Business Sense" on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Penquis CAP, 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft.

This free, three-hour interactive workshop is designed to help small businesses increase sales and profits through improved customer service. Presenters will be James C. McConnon, Jr., Business and Economics Specialist with University of Maine Cooperative Extension; Roger Merchant, Extension Educator, UMCE-Piscataquis County Extension; and Cathleen Curry, Microenterprise Consultant for Penquis Community Action Program.

The workshop will cover a variety of customer service topics, including presentation of a national award winning video on keys to effective customer service. Participants in the October 8th workshop will learn how to establish an effective customer service program that will reduce loss of customers, help businesses gain new customers and increase the satisfaction levels of current customers.
