Thursday, August 04, 2005
Hold your horses, Wild Bill is putting together Dexter's 1st Annual "WILD WEST WEEKEND TEXAS HOLD 'EM TOURNAMENT" on Friday Night and Saturday. There will be no gambling, gift prizes being awarded to the top four finishers. There will be (3) tournaments; 6 to 9 on Friday, 3 to 7 and 7 to 10 on Saturday.

All entry fees to play in the tournaments will be added to the "Wild West Weekend Fund". This fundraiser to help defray any costs incurred from the weekend, so ultimately there will be no cost to Dexter Taxpayers.

Come and have a great time at the Dexter Club on Grove Street, right next to the Police Station, bring your own libations of any sort. But, any rowdiness will results in the cowboy boot out the door!

Example of the Friday schedule and Rules are: $5 Entry Fee (The $5 entry fee buys you $500 in chips)

Ideally, at the start we would like to have six people per table, but there may be maximum of eight players per table. Players will cut to see who deals first. Lowest card gets the deal. If there is no appointed dealer for your table, you will take turns dealing. Table seating will be established by a card draw.

----- THERE ARE NO ANTES ----
BETTING
FROM - FORCED BLIND BETS - MAX BETS
6:00 to 6:30 pm - Blinds $10 / $20 - $100 Max Bet
6:30 to 7:00 pm - Blinds $50 / $100 - $200 Max Bet
7:00 to 8:00 pm - Blinds $100 / $200 - No-limit
8:00 to 9:00 pm - Blinds $500 / $1000 - No-limit

If a player cannot meet the blind requirement then he is all in at that point and can only win the amount he has in from each player.

Buy-ins (Re-buys) – Unlimited until 7:00 pm ( $5 = $200 in chips). Must buy back immediately. You cannot miss a deal.

After 7:00 pm once all of your chips are gone, you must leave the table.

When placing a bet, the chips are to be placed in front of the better (not into the middle of the pot) so there is no confusion as to what has been bet. Chips go in the middle after each round of betting. After a player wins the hand, it is the dealer's responsibility to get the chips to the winner. If a player goes ALL-IN, other players can continue to bet with a side pot.

If you show your opponent your hand purposely before it is played out, you will get a warning on the first offense, second offense you lose ½ your chips and third offense you will be disqualified from the game.

When players start getting knocked out, the tables will be consolidated so that there is always an equal amount of players at each table. Players will be moved by a cut of the deck, the low card leaves and joins the new table in the seat of the last eliminated player. Once we are down to seven players, they will all be playing at one table. There will be a 10-minute break and the chips will then be consolidated.

The tournament will end at nine o'clock. If there is no "winner" at this time, we will count the remaining players chips and the player with the most chips will be declared the winner.

Note - Count your chips before you start playing to verify that the cashier counted correctly. Corrections will only be made prior to the 1st hand - after that no corrections will be made.
