Mary Murphy Mary Murphy has often been referred to as a “soulful” vocalist because of her natural ability to perform each song with feeling. As life unfolds for her more & more feelings get poured into her music. Mary's dad was a very accomplished musician with tenor vocals who played a skillful guitar, fiddle & mandolin & he introduced Mary to music at a very tender age. Mary performs a variety of music to include, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Rock, Oldies, Gospel, Classic Country. Having lived her life in the Franco American community, and enjoyed the French language, she always includes some traditional French songs wherever she performs. Mary started writing songs while still in High School. After High School Mary started doing jingles for radio & TV. at EAB recording studios in Lewiston. Several of her jingles won awards for the studio. Her most famous jingle won the prestigious “Brody” advertising award. Mary is one of the most versatile instrumentalists in the State, playing guitar, bass, piano, organ & the blues harp. Mary has performed with many Maine bands and is currently doing solo acts & performing duets with Country Jim Palmer. Mary & her husband Levite Dubois reside in Auburn & care for her 89 yr. old mother Mary has 2 adult sons Joshua who works in the auto industry & aspires to become a race car driver & Benjamin who is also a musician and performs with Mary on occasion. She has 4 grandchildren & is expecting the 5th. In addition to her family is her love of music through her music Mary is able to bringing joy to others.
